Cleopatra Marina strengthens nautical tourism in Western Greece
Cleopatra Marina upgrades with an investment of more than €2.8 million through Greece 2.0
Cleopatra Marina is moving decisively ahead with the modernization of its infrastructure and services, implementing a comprehensive investment programme with a total budget of €2,809,079.39, under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0”, with funding from the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
In the area of port infrastructure and safety, repairs were carried out to cracks in the floating breakwater, along with upgrades to the anchoring systems of floating pontoons and vessels. At the same time, operational and protection systems were strengthened through the installation of modern infrastructure, including CCTV, fire detection, access control and public address systems.
Particular emphasis was placed on upgrading the marina’s buildings and services. Works included painting and buildings’ exterior upgrades, waterproofing, and the full renovation of sanitary facilities, including accessible infrastructure for people with disabilities. In addition, domestic hot water systems with solar panels and heat pumps were installed, further enhancing the marina’s energy-efficient profile.
Significant investments were also made in equipment and user services, including the procurement of new shore power and water supply pillars for vessels, upgrades to telecommunications equipment and the data network, as well as the installation of modern Wi-Fi and an upgraded company website.
Of particular importance for strengthening Cleopatra Marina’s competitiveness are the investments in the telescopic Travel lifts of 80t and 480t, which are changing the landscape of lifting and launching services in Western Greece. By expanding the marina’s capacity to accommodate larger vessels, Cleopatra Marina gains a major competitive advantage, broadening its client base and reinforcing West Greece’s position as a regional hub for nautical tourism and high-spec technical services.
Outdoor gym equipment has also been installed, including facilities for people with disabilities, further enhancing the marina’s open and welcoming character.
With the completion of this investment programme, Cleopatra Marina is expected to significantly strengthen its position as a modern and sustainable nautical tourism destination, offering upgraded services, greater safety and an improved experience for visitors and users.
The investment was implemented within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0”, with funding from the European Union -NextGenerationEU.
