The project at a glance
At Cleopatra Shipyard, we routinely undertake special-specification tasks like deep-draft yacht dockings. Projects like this, require the right infrastructure, proven equipment, and experienced teams to execute safely and precisely.

Vessel type: S/Y
-
Length: 85 ft
-
Draft: 4.58 m
Engineering-led docking plan
For this project, a detailed docking plan was developed to meet highly specific requirements. The plan defined all critical parameters for the lift and set-down, ensuring the yacht’s keel geometry and load distribution were fully accounted for before any operation began.
High-spec support and cradle foundations
The yacht was supported using high-specification vessel support foundations/blocks designed for controlled, stable load transfer. This approach helps ensure correct hull support, secure positioning, and repeatable accuracy during the set-down and while the vessel is in the hardstand period.
What made it successful
Key success factors were end-to-end coordination and disciplined execution:
-
In advance preparation and clear communication with the Cleopatra Shipyard administration office
-
Docking plan preparation in close coordination with the yacht owner
-
Precise lifting and set-down by our operators, using the 300t Travel Lift, with a focus on alignment, stability, and safety at every stage
